Camp Counsellor
Location: SGSA Lighthouse Building – 555 Steeles Avenue East, Milton
Rate of Pay: $14.60/hr ($15.50 for 18+)
Positions Available: Full time & Part time
Dates: March 13-17, 2023
Reports To: Camp Director

We are looking for incredibly energetic and responsible individuals to become part of the SGSA Camp Counselor Team for March Break! Your primary job is to provide care and leadership for our campers during their day, and create memorable experiences for them throughout the week. These programs serve children between 4-12 years of age.
Position Description
- Committed to camp mission and values.
- Punctual and good time management skills.
- Daily camp set up & break down of activities.
- Ensure safety and enforce camp rules and regulations.
- Supervise large and small groups of children and deliver a safe and fun program appropriate to all ages, including assisting campers with activities, games, and crafts.
- Manage difficult situations and behaviours among campers and each other.
- Interact with campers in a friendly and outgoing manner, including active involvement in games and activities both indoors and outdoors.
- Provide a friendly customer service experience and a welcoming environment.
- Work effectively with a partner and share responsibilities in such a way that each co-counsellor will be able to learn and grow from one another.
- Seek help from a supervisor when it is appropriate or necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Grade 11 and above (16+)
- Mature judgement and ability to safely supervise children
- Must be able to attend all pre-camp training and meetings
- Have reliable transportation
Other Qualifications
- Standard First Aid & CPR not required but would be an asset
- Reference checks welcome, but not mandatory
