Location: SGSA Lighthouse Building – 555 Steeles Avenue East, Milton

Rate of Pay: $16-18/hr

Positions Available: 1-2 Full time

Term: July 4th to Aug 25th, 2023

Reports To: Camp Director

We are looking for one or two incredibly responsible, patient, energetic and committed individuals to lead the everyday operations of the SGSA Summer Camp. Your primary job is to provide leadership and guidance for our counselors throughout the summer and ensure safe and memorable execution of the summer program.

Position Description

• Committed to camp mission and values.
• Punctual, organized, great time management skills, excellent communication skills.
• Supervise staff/campers/volunteers, daily operations (both indoors and outdoors), and prepare daily camp activities.
• Ensure safety and enforce camp rules and regulations among campers and staff.
• Manage difficult situations and behaviours among campers and staff.
• Interact with staff, parents and others in a professional and knowledgeable manner to provide a friendly customer service experience and a welcoming environment.
• Work effectively with a co-coordinator (if applicable) and share responsibilities in such a way that each person will be able to learn and grow from one another.
• Assist with some staffing and other tasks prior to camp start.
• Report to camp director(s).

Position Requirements

• Must be 18+ and finished secondary school 
• Must be available for the whole week
• Mature judgement & ability to safely supervise and manage children/counsellors
• Must be able to attend all pre-camp training and meetings
• Have reliable transportation

Other Qualifications

• Standard First Aid & CPR
• Reference checks welcome, but not mandatory
